 Tribute to Bernard Shaak
in Words and Music CD Description
January 22, 1999 Bernard Shaak died unexpectedly
from a heart attack at his home in Denver, Colorado. His family,
students and their parents, friends, colleagues and the entire musical
community were overwhelmed by grief and sorrow. An eloquent and
inspired Memorial Service was presented the following Wednesday by his
friends, students, and family members at the beautiful Whatley Chapel
on the University of Denver campus. Hundreds of tributes to him and his
teaching poured in from all over the country. Several of these poignant
essays as well as the Memorial Service are reproduced on this CD and
the accompanying booklet.
